Pristella tetra are also known as the X-ray tetra and the golden pristella tetra, but usually just the simple “Pristella” will do. Male pristella tetras are smaller and skinnier than the females but coloration is the same – pretty gold and black tips with a pink or red tail. The fish is very hardy and good for all aquariums and great for beginners, but a bit too large for nano tanks. Please consider a school of at least six pristella tetras to keep them happy.
